Impossible not to be captivated by such wild beauty. And it was precisely with those hikers in mind who like to follow the less beaten paths, far from the most frequented routes, that the volunteers of the Cai Chiavenna wanted to build a bivouac that, due to its particular conformation, fits in an almost symbiotic way with the surrounding environment, employing construction materials taken on site: wood and stone.
The bivouac is equipped to accommodate up to eight beds, has a few blankets and a small heater connected to the gas cylinder. It is designed to provide overnight shelter for those who travel long distances on foot or for those caught in a blizzard or stranded in a violent thunderstorm. There are no food supplies, and water, should guests lack it, must be drawn from a nearby stream.
There are several routes that reach Garzonedo.
The most direct is the one that from Santa Croce di Piuro, climbs torturously up to the 1943 meters of the bivouac.For those moving by car, it is possible to leave the vehicle in one of the parking lots in the hamlet, following on foot the signs for Crotto Quartino. From here, continue on the path up the narrow gorge through which the Aurosina stream flows. The starting elevation is about 500m.
The first stop is the nucleus of Tabiadascio at about 1250m elevation. Once past the edge of the forest, it becomes essential to maintain contact with the red and white pass markers. The climb gets tough and gradually, following the repeated switchbacks, you reach Garzonedo, where the bivouac is located, visible thanks to the double red-white coloring on the entrance door. From the bivouac one can head toward Bocchetta di Scilano, at almost 2200 meters above sea level. Alternatively, one can pass by Lago del Grillo, returning to the valley from Uschione, in the municipality of Chiavenna. For any information, it is advisable to make contact with local mountain guides.
, it=La sua conformazione geografica difficile, unita ad una natura particolarmente ricca, hanno preservato dall’azione dell’uomo questo stupendo anfratto nel corso degli anni. Impossibile non rimanere catturati da tanta selvaggia bellezza. Ed è stato proprio pensando a quegli escursionisti che amano seguire i percorsi meno battuti, lontani dalle rotte più frequentate, che i volontari del Cai Chiavenna hanno voluto realizzare un bivacco che per la sua particolare conformazione, si inserisce in modo quasi simbiotico con l’ambiente circostante, impiegando materiali costruttivi presi sul posto: legna e pietra.Il bivacco è attrezzato per ospitare fino a otto posti letto, dispone di qualche coperta e di un piccolo scaldavivande collegato alla bombola del gas. E´ pensato per dare riparo notturno a chi percorre lunghi tratti a piedi o a chi viene sorpreso da una tormenta o resta bloccato sotto un violento temporale. Non ci sono scorte di cibo e l’acqua, nel caso gli ospiti ne fossero sprovvisti, va attinta da un ruscello vicino.
Ci sono vari percorsi che raggiungono Garzonedo.
Il più diretto è quello che da Santa Croce di Piuro, sale tortuoso fino ai 1943 metri del bivacco.Per chi si muove in auto è possibile lasciare il veicolo in uno dei posteggi della frazione, seguendo a piedi le indicazioni per il Crotto Quartino. Da qui si prosegue sul sentiero che risale la stretta gola nella quale scorre il torrente Aurosina. La quota di partenza è di circa 500m.
La prima tappa è il nucleo di Tabiadascio a circa 1250m di altezza. Superato il limite del bosco, diventa fondamentale mantenere il contatto con i segnapasso bianchi e rossi. La salita si fa dura e gradualmente, seguendo i ripetuti tornanti, si giunge a Garzonedo, dove ha sede il bivacco visibile grazie al doppio colore rosso-bianco con cui è stata colorata la porta di ingresso. Dal bivacco si può puntare verso la Bocchetta di Scilano, a quasi 2200 metri di quota. In alternativa si può passare dal Lago del Grillo, rientrando a valle da Uschione, nel comune di Chiavenna. Per ogni informazione, è consigliabile prendere contatto con le guide alpine del posto.
, de=Ihre schwierige geografische Beschaffenheit in Verbindung mit einer besonders reichhaltigen Natur haben diese beeindruckende Schlucht im Laufe der Jahre vor menschlichen Eingriffen bewahrt. Es ist unmöglich, sich der Faszination dieser wilden Schönheit zu entziehen. Und gerade für jene Wanderer, die gerne auf weniger ausgetretenen Pfaden, fernab der am meisten begangenen Routen, unterwegs sind, wollten die Freiwilligen des Cai Chiavenna ein Biwak errichten, das sich aufgrund seiner besonderen Beschaffenheit fast symbiotisch in die Umgebung einfügt, wobei sie Baumaterialien aus dem Gelände verwendeten: Holz und Stein.Das Biwak bietet Platz für bis zu acht Personen, verfügt über ein paar Decken und eine kleine Heizung, die an die Gasflasche angeschlossen ist. Es ist als Übernachtungsmöglichkeit für diejenigen gedacht, die lange Strecken zu Fuß zurücklegen, in einen Schneesturm geraten oder in einem heftigen Gewitter festsitzen. Es gibt keine Essensvorräte, und Wasser muss aus einem nahe gelegenen Bach geschöpft werden, falls die Gäste nicht genügend davon haben.
Es gibt mehrere Wege nach Garzonedo.
Die direkteste ist die von Santa Croce di Piuro, die sich mühsam bis auf 1943 Meter zum Biwak hinaufwindet. Wer mit dem Auto anreist, kann sein Fahrzeug auf einem der Parkplätze des Ortes abstellen und zu Fuß den Schildern nach Crotto Quartino folgen. Von hier aus geht es weiter auf dem Weg, der die enge Schlucht hinaufführt, durch die der Bach Aurosina fließt. Die Ausgangshöhe beträgt etwa 500 m.
Der erste Halt ist der Weiler Tabiadascio auf einer Höhe von etwa 1250 m. Sobald man den Waldrand hinter sich gelassen hat, ist es wichtig, den Kontakt zu den roten und weißen Passmarkierungen zu halten. Die Steigung wird härter und allmählich erreicht man nach den wiederholten Serpentinen Garzonedo, wo sich das Biwak befindet, das durch die doppelte rot-weiße Farbe des Torkofels erkennbar ist. Vom Biwak aus kann man in Richtung Bocchetta di Scilano auf fast 2200 m Höhe fahren. Alternativ kann man auch über den Lago del Grillo gehen und von Uschione in der Gemeinde Chiavenna ins Tal zurückkehren.
