The starting point is in the locality Piazza Calda, a mountain pasture at 1,165 m altitude. The signs for the destination - Alpe Legnone - invite you to enter the forest beyond the huts. The trail is wide and well marked. A point of interest in this first part of the route is the "Zoca de la Naaf", a basin with tall trees - called "of the ship" for unknown reasons - at 1,420 m asl. The forest limit is around 1,500 m. The trail then climbs the meadows of the vast Alpe Legnone, passing near two abandoned mountain huts.
The Baitone di Legnone is a refuge at 1,690 m asl, which with two other huts forms a small cluster above. The structure is in a truly panoramic position, from Lake Como to the Middle Valtellina; some of the most recognizable peaks are Sasso Manduino (2,888 m), Monte Disgrazia (3,678 m), Pizzo Scalino (3,323 m). The Baitone is backed by Monte Legnone, with its north face dominating the southwest panorama.
The return follows the same route.
, it=Il punto di partenza è in località Piazza Calda, un maggengo a 1.165 m di altitudine. La segnaletica per la meta - l'Alpe Legnone - invita ad entrare nel bosco, oltre le baite. Il sentiero è ampio e ben tracciato. Il punto di interesse, in questa prima parte di percorso, è la "Zoca de la Naaf", ovvero una conca con alti alberi - detta, appunto, "della nave" per motivi ignoti - a 1.420 m slm. Il limite del bosco è a quota 1.500 m circa. Il sentiero risale quindi i prati della vasta Alpe Legnone, passando vicino a due casere in disuso.
Il Baitone di Legnone è un rifugio a 1.690 m slm, che con altre due baite forma un piccolo nucleo in quota. La struttura è in posizione davvero panoramica, dal Lago di Como alla Media Valtellina; alcune tra le cime più riconoscibili sono il Sasso Manduino (M 2.888), il Monte Disgrazia (M 3.678), il Pizzo Scalino (M 3.323). Il Baitone ha le spalle coperte dal Monte Legnone, con la parete nord ad occupare tutto il panorama a sud-ovest.
Il ritorno segue lo stesso itinerario.
, de=Der Ausgangspunkt befindet sich im Ort Piazza Calda, einer Alm auf 1.165 m Höhe. Die Wegmarkierung zum Ziel – der Alpe Legnone – lädt dazu ein, in den Wald einzutreten, hinter den Hütten. Der Weg ist breit und gut markiert. Ein interessanter Punkt auf diesem ersten Abschnitt ist die "Zoca de la Naaf", eine Senke mit hohen Bäumen – genannt "des Schiffes" aus unbekannten Gründen – auf 1.420 m ü. M. Die Waldgrenze liegt etwa bei 1.500 m. Der Weg führt dann durch die Wiesen der weitläufigen Alpe Legnone und passiert zwei nicht mehr genutzte Almhütten.
Der Baitone di Legnone ist eine Hütte auf 1.690 m ü. M., die zusammen mit zwei weiteren Hütten eine kleine Siedlung in der Höhe bildet. Die Anlage liegt in einer wirklich panoramareichen Position, vom Comer See bis zum mittleren Veltlin; einige der bekanntesten Gipfel sind der Sasso Manduino (M 2.888), der Monte Disgrazia (M 3.678) und der Pizzo Scalino (M 3.323). Der Baitone hat den Monte Legnone im Rücken, mit der Nordwand, die die gesamte Aussicht nach Südwesten einnimmt.
