Skiing in Santa Caterina Valfurva, an Unexpected Paradise

A winter paradise. Surrounded by mighty Alpine summits nestling in the heart of the Stelvio National Park, Santa Caterina Valfurva is like heaven for lovers of winter sports. And after skiing, you can soak your muscles in the spas!

When you get to the top of the highest ski lift in the Santa Caterina Valfurva ski area and the panorama suddenly opens out over the deserted valleys of the Stelvio National Park, you may decide you would rather stay up here rather than ski back down!

Of the three ski resorts in the Bormio area, Santa Caterina Valfurva is a snow-covered paradise. Beautiful ski pistes await in a stunning landscape topped with the mighty summits of the Ortles-Cevedale range in Stelvio National Park.

Something for everyone

The Santa Caterina Valfurva ski area boasts:

- 35 km of pistes in the heart of the Stelvio National Park
- 8 ski lifts, including the 8-seater Valle dell’Alpe gondola lift and the 4-seater chairlift to the top of Monte Sobretta
- 1 area with a magic carpet lift, ideal for beginners learning under the guidance of the ski and snowboard instructors
- 1 sledging and tobogganing run

If speed is your thing, do not miss the most famous piste in the resort, the Pista Deborah Compagnoni, dedicated to the three-time Olympic gold medallist from Santa Caterina Valfurva. This slope is also open at night, under floodlights, when you can also enjoy a drink in one of the mountain huts and take in the views of Santa Caterina Valfurva at night.

The resort is open for skiing until the end of April.
Winters still last a long time here. Plenty of snow falls each year and the temperatures still typical of winter. So the snow is always in perfect condition from November until the end of April.

Bormio Skipass, 1 skipass 3 resortsWhy ski just in Bormio? The Bormio Skipass covers all three resorts and allows you to use the lifts in each of them. One ticket covering 110 km of pistes in Bormio, Santa Caterina Valfurva and Cima Piazzi-San Colombano. With this skipass, the use of the skibus is free.

The perfect combination of skiing and spas

Relaxation and skiing go hand-in-hand in Bormio. After your day on the slopes, rest your muscles in the warm waters of one of the town’s three wellness centres: QC Terme Bagni Vecchi, QC Terme Bagni Nuovi and Bormio Terme.
