Did you know that Bormio, Santa Caterina Valfurva and Valdidentro all have recreational and competition trails for Nordic ski enthusiasts?

Santa Caterina Valfurva offers challenging competition trails and recreational trails suitable for beginners. Located in the Stelvio National Park, these snow-covered forest tracks offer excellent conditions and picture postcard scenery from November to March.
If you're an experienced cross-country skier, take on the Valtellina trail, which has staged many international competitions, there's a 5 km and a 10 km circuit with a respective height difference of 190 and 390 m. If you're just starting out, hire your equipment and book a lesson with an instructor on the beginner trail.
In Valdidentro there's a 10 km trail with free access for all. Located in a wide, flat valley surrounded by picturesque mountain cabins, bridges and snowy forests, this trail has a maximum height difference of 180 m, and you can choose to do the whole circuit or just a section.

If you're a complete beginner who wants to try cross-country skiing, head to the Alute trail in Bormio. Here you can rent equipment and book a lesson to get started on one of the two circuits available.
The trail is easy to reach from the centre of Bormio, and you can learn to cross-country ski at the foot of Monte Vallecetta, on a wide, flat, sunny trail.
