After a short and interesting visit to the small but valuable seventeenth-century chapel of St. John the Baptist, continue along San Giovanni street uphill and after a few meters you will encounter the ancient 18th-century lever press, a true witness to Grosio's working culture. Then continue north on path N256, in about half an hour's walk you will arrive at the ancient rural nucleus of Vernuga Alta, composed of some pre-modern stone houses of great charm perched on a promontory overlooking the valley. Now take the altitude, always on path N256, until you intersect, after about half an hour, path N254, which is immediately much flatter than the previous one and which will allow you to stroll relaxing and enjoying the splendid view of Grosio. In a few minutes you will reach the small rural settlement of Arzuga, where the descent path N242 starts, an ancient and narrow military mule track that will lead you in a few minutes to the Vernuga Cannonade and, further down, to the two Great War bunkers, before joining via Rovinaccio (path N250) which will take you in a few minutes to the town center.
