Bormio's historic centre, from Piazza del Kuerc to Piazzetta San Vitale, will be transformed into a spectacular 800-metre-long communal table, ready to welcome guests for a unique dining experience featuring authentic hand-made pizzoccheri prepared by the restaurants of the Bormio area.
It will be a Sunday dedicated to great food, with tastings of local products and wines, offering the perfect opportunity to enjoy good company, delicious flavours and a festive atmosphere.
Throughout the day, traditional music, folk dancing and entertainment will bring the historic centre to life.
Programme
From 12:30 p.m. – Everyone takes their seat!
Take your place at the table and begin your lunch with a selection of traditional local starters:
Salamet and Slinzega della Contea, served with cheeses from our local farmers.
Everything will be accompanied by wines from the Consorzio di Tutela dei Vini di Valtellina and Levissima spring water.
1:00 p.m. – The Pizzoccheri arrive to the sound of the Bajona!
As tradition dictates, at 1:00 p.m. the historic Bajona of Bormio will announce the most eagerly awaited moment of the day: the serving of the traditional Pizzoccheri, delivered simultaneously along the entire 800-metre table.
Dessert will follow with buckwheat cake and the famous Valtellina apple.
Experience the celebration from the very beginning
We recommend arriving a little early and taking a stroll through the historic centre.
You'll be able to soak up the festive atmosphere, watch the final preparations, see volunteers setting the tables along the 800-metre banquet, and observe the chefs as they knead, cut and prepare the true stars of the event: the traditional Pizzoccheri.
Throughout the day, the historic centre will come alive with traditional music, folk dances and entertainment, creating a truly authentic celebration in the heart of Bormio.
How to book
By clicking "Book now", you will access an interactive map where you can:
- choose the restaurant where you would like to have lunch;
- view the seating plan and select your preferred seat;
- complete your purchase quickly and securely.
Please note: once your booking has been completed, your selected seat cannot be changed.
If you are attending with friends or family, we recommend making a single booking or booking at the same time so that you can choose seats next to each other at the same table.
Allergies, intolerances and dietary requirements
During the booking process, you will be asked to indicate any allergies or dietary requirements.
Please specify:
- the number of people in your booking who require a special version of the pizzoccheri (for example, gluten-free or without butter and cheese);
- any other food allergies or intolerances so that we can inform the restaurant.
Any additional requests will be forwarded to the selected restaurant, which will assess whether they can accommodate them based on their organisation and the dishes prepared for the event.
For this reason, we can only guarantee the gluten-free and butter- and cheese-free versions of the pizzoccheri. We cannot guarantee that other dietary requirements will be accommodated.

Can I bring my pet?
The Pizzoccherata is a large communal lunch where hundreds of guests sit together along one continuous table.
To ensure everyone's comfort, safety and enjoyment, dogs and other animals are not permitted, including small pets.
Bad weather plan
Should weather conditions be considered unsuitable by the organisers, or should organisational needs require it, the event will be reorganised by moving part of the seating indoors to the participating restaurants and to the Pentagono di Bormio.
The 2026 Pizzoccherata will still take place on Sunday, 6 September.
As the event will not be cancelled but only reorganised, tickets are non-refundable in the event of non-attendance.
Participants must make their own way to the assigned venue. No shuttle or transfer service will be provided.
Should the bad weather plan be activated, an official notice will be published on bormio.eu by 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, 5 September 2026.
