A paradise for cyclists

Bormio: the home of cycling. Whether you're flying solo, a group of friends looking for some epic challenges, or a family wanting to explore, Alta Valtellina is the perfect place for two-wheeled adventures.

Enduro MTB and gravel biking are for the wild at heart. The Stelvio Natural Trail is a network of high-altitude natural trails with few equals anywhere in the Alps. Tackle steep climbs and ride along panoramic former military tracks through otherwise untouched landscapes; ideal for a gravel or enduro outing where you can feel at one with the nature of the Stelvio National Park.

For downhill MTB aficionados there's Bormio Bike Park. Technical, fast, physically demanding trails suited to expert riders who prefer to focus on the descent rather than the view.

And then there's the big three. Take on these legendary climbs that have made cycling history: the Stelvio, Gavia and Mortirolo Passes. But don't stop there; discover some lesser-known ascents around the area, hidden gems just waiting to be ridden.

Need equipment hire, a mountain guide or shuttle service?

Bormio offers a wide range of amenities, including ski, snowshoe, bike and e-bike hire, and transport services.

Seven places, one special holiday

Bormio, Valfurva, Valdidentro, Valdisotto and Sondalo are all districts in Alta Valtellina. Together with the Stelvio Pass and the village of Santa Caterina Valfurva, they offer an incredible array of attractions and activities that will make your holiday unforgettable. Highlights include Bormio's old town, the Cancano lakes, Paluaccio Nature Reserve and Val di Rezzalo.
