From the hotel Ghiacciaio dei Forni take the road northwards that climbs towards the mountain, quite steep and with some bends in the initial part, then, already along the right orographic side of Val Cedec, less steep and with a gradual climb. The route winds through the pastures and offers a wonderful view, first of the Ghiacciaio dei Forni glacier, to the southeast, then of Gran Zebru' (m 3857) to the north. Having reached Rifugio Pizzini, at an altitude of 2706 m, you can venture for a stretch northwards on good terrain along the path to the steepest start of the climb to Rifugio Casati.

Dall'albergo Ghiacciaio dei Forni si imbocca verso nord la strada carrabile che sale verso monte, abbastanza ripida e con qualche svolta nella parte iniziale, in seguito, ormai gia' lungo il versante destro orografico della Val Cedec, di minore pendenza e dalla salita graduale. Il percorso si snoda attraverso i pascoli e offre una vista meravigliosa, prima sul Ghiacciaio dei Forni, a Sud-Est, e poi sul Gran Zebru' (m 3857) a Nord. Raggiunto il Rifugio Pizzini, a quota 2706 m, ci si puo' avventurare per un tratto, su buon terreno, anche piu' a Nord, lungo il sentiero sino all'attacco piu' ripido della salita al Rifugio Casati.

Vom Hotel Gletscher der Forni folgt man der Fahrstraße nach Norden bergauf, die anfangs ziemlich steil ist und einige Kehren aufweist, später dann, bereits am orografisch rechten Hang des Val Cedec, mit geringerer Steigung und allmählichem Anstieg. Der Weg führt durch Almen und bietet einen wunderbaren Blick, zunächst auf den Gletscher der Forni im Südosten und dann auf den Gran Zebru' (m 3857) im Norden. Erreicht man die Hütte Pizzini auf 2706 m, kann man sich auf gutem Untergrund ein Stück weiter nördlich entlang des Weges bis zum steileren Anstieg zur Hütte Casati wagen.
