From Sant'Antonio di Scianno, follow trail N196 to Alpe Gattonino. Here, take a right onto a cattle-track that climbs the meadowy coast and penetrates the Cadangola Valley, until you reach Alpe Vezzola, at the beginning of the plateau of the same name. This is a characteristic plateau with some partly restored huts and surrounded by summits such as Mount Trela and Dosso Rosaccio. From here you follow the mule track on the left, toward the water intake, and after about 15 minutes continue on path N 196.1, which enters the forest (there is a sign indicating Foscagno). After a little more than 2 km, the trail leaves the charming forest and a striking viewpoint appears in front of it; a little further on, take the mule track that climbs until it reaches the first Foscagno pond at an elevation of 2,250 m. Crossing the state road you find the main lake and nearby the other smaller lakes.

Da Sant'Antonio di Scianno si segue il sentiero N196 sino all'Alpe Gattonino. Qui, si prende a destra un tratturo che risale la costa prativa e penetra nella Val Cadangola, sino a portarsi all'Alpe Vezzola, all'inizio dell'omonimo pianoro. Si tratta di un caratteristico altipiano con alcune baite in parte ristrutturate e attorniato da sommità come il Monte Trela e il Dosso Rosaccio. Da qui si percorre la mulattiera sulla sinistra, verso la presa dell'acqua, e dopo circa 15 minuti si prosegue sul sentiero N 196.1 che si addentra nel bosco (è presente un cartello che indica Foscagno). Dopo poco più di 2 km il sentiero esce dall'incantevole bosco e dinnanzi compare un suggestivo punto panoramico; poco più avanti si prende la mulattiera che sale, fino a raggiungere il primo laghetto del Foscagno a quota 2.250 m. Attraversando la strada statale si trova il Lago principale e nei pressi gli altri piccoli laghetti minori.

Von Sant'Antonio di Scianno folgt man dem Weg N196 bis zur Alpe Gattonino. Hier biegt man rechts auf einen Schafsweg ab, der den Wiesenhang hinaufsteigt und in das Val Cadangola eindringt, bis man die Alpe Vezzola erreicht, die am Anfang der gleichnamigen Hochebene liegt. Es handelt sich um eine charakteristische Hochebene mit einigen teilweise restaurierten Hütten, umgeben von Gipfeln wie dem Monte Trela und dem Dosso Rosaccio. Von hier aus nimmt man den Saumpfad nach links in Richtung der Wasserfassung und geht nach etwa 15 Minuten auf dem Weg N 196.1 weiter, der in den Wald führt (ein Wegweiser weist nach Foscagno). Nach etwas mehr als 2 km verlässt der Weg den bezaubernden Wald und ein beeindruckender Aussichtspunkt taucht vor ihm auf; etwas weiter nimmt man den Saumpfad, der zum ersten Foscagno-See auf 2.250 m Höhe hinaufsteigt. Wenn man die Hauptstraße überquert, trifft man auf den Hauptsee und weitere kleinere Seen in der Nähe.
