A route for experienced hikers that retraces the paths used in the eighteenth century by miners and the military roads dating back to the Great War.

Starting from the church of S.Erasmo, overlooking the Cancano Lakes, continue along the dirt road leading to the Solena area, where there is a picnic area. At the fork, take the descending road that continues to the Fraele Valley, leaving to the left the path we will take on the return. Proceed for 2 km, also crossing a small bridge over the meltwaters of Val Forcola, until you find on the left the start of the "Troi di Strosc" trail. A series of hairpin bends that climbs the southwest side of Monte Pedenolo, restored by some willing local youths in recent years. After a climb of about 500 m in elevation, the trail plunges into the magnificent Pedenolo pastures, with a spectacular 360-degree view. An ideal perspective of the Bormio basin, Cima Piazzi, Cancano Lakes, Monte Schumbraida, and the Braulio valley with the Stelvio hairpins. After a stretch on the pastures, always maintaining altitude and staying on the wide ridge, take the Pian Pedenolo - Bocchetta Pedenolo trail. A section of the route, not always in ideal conditions, that crosses the southern slope of Pedenolo. On the way, you will also find the entrance to the ancient iron mines, used in the nineteenth century. Upon reaching the Bocchetta di Pedenoletto, you return to Val Forcola and after a flat section and a final short climb, you arrive at the Forcola Barracks and the Bocchetta di Forcola, the site of trenches dating back to the Great War. The view over the Terza Cantoniera basin and the Stelvio Pass is priceless. From the highest point of the excursion, the long descent begins along the valley, surrounded by the imposing dolomitic walls of Pedenolo and the severe, yet regal presence of Monte Schumbraida. Passing through the Malga di Forcola and the Fornelle area, you comfortably return to Solena and from there to the Church of S.Erasmo.

Un percorso per escursionisti esperti che ripercorre i sentieri che venivano utilizzati nell'Ottocento dai minatori e le strade militari risalenti alla Grande Guerra.

Partendo dalla chiesa di S.Erasmo, che si affaccia sui Laghi di Cancano, si prosegue lungo la strada sterrata che conduce all'area di Solena, dove è presente un'area picnic. Al bivio si imbocca la strada in discesa che prosegue per la Valle di Fraele, lasciandosi a sinistra la via che affronteremo al ritorno. Si procede per 2km, attraversando anche un ponticello sulle acque di scioglimento della Val Forcola, sino a trovare sulla sinistra l'inizio del sentiero "Troi di Strosc". Un susseguirsi di tornanti che risale il versante sud-ovest del Monte Pedenolo, recuperato da alcuni volenterosi giovani locali negli scorsi anni. Dopo una salita di circa 500m di dislivello il sentiero si tuffa nei magnifici pascoli di Pedenolo, con una vista spettacolare a 360 gradi. Una prospettiva ideale sulla conca di Bormio, la Cima Piazzi, i Laghi di Cancano, il Monte Schumbraida e la valle del Braulio con i tornanti dello Stelvio. Dopo un tratto sui pascoli, mantendo sempre quota e rimanendo sull'ampia cresta, si imbocca il sentiero Pian Pedenolo - Bocchetta Pedenolo. Un tratto di percorso, non sempre in condizioni ideali, che attraversa il versante sud di Pedenolo. Sulla via si incontra anche l'imbocco delle antiche miniere di ferro, utilizzate nell'Ottocento. Giunti alla Bocchetta di Pedenoletto si ritorna nella Val Forcola e dopo un tratto pianeggiante e un ultima breve salita si arriva alla Caserma di Forcola e alla Bocchetta di Forcola, teatro delle trincee risalenti alla Grande Guerra. La vista sulla conca della Terza Cantoniera e il Passo dello Stelvio è impagabile. Dal punto più alto dell'escursione inizia la lunga discesa lungo la valle, attorniati dalle imponenti pareti dolomitiche di Pedenolo e dalla severa, ma al tempo stesso regale, presenza del Monte Schumbraida. Passando per la Malga di Forcola e l'area delle Fornelle si ritorna comodamente a Solena e da qui alla Chiesa di S.Erasmo.

Eine Route für erfahrene Wanderer, die die Pfade nachzeichnet, die im 19. Jahrhundert von Bergleuten benutzt wurden, sowie die Militärstraßen aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg.

Ausgehend von der Kirche S.Erasmo, die auf die Seen von Cancano blickt, folgt man der Schotterstraße, die zum Gebiet von Solena führt, wo sich ein Picknickplatz befindet. An der Kreuzung nimmt man die absteigende Straße zum Tal von Fraele, lässt dabei den Weg links liegen, den wir auf dem Rückweg nehmen. Man folgt dem Weg für 2 km, überquert dabei auch eine kleine Brücke über das Schmelzwasser des Val Forcola, bis man links den Anfang des Weges „Troi di Strosc“ findet. Eine Reihe von Kehren, die die südwestliche Flanke des Monte Pedenolo hinaufführen, welcher in den letzten Jahren von einigen engagierten jungen Einheimischen instand gesetzt wurde. Nach einem Aufstieg von etwa 500 m Höhenunterschied stürzt der Weg auf die herrlichen Weiden von Pedenolo mit einer spektakulären 360-Grad-Aussicht. Ein idealer Blick auf das Becken von Bormio, den Cima Piazzi, die Seen von Cancano, den Monte Schumbraida und das Braulio-Tal mit den Kehren des Stelvio. Nach einem Abschnitt auf den Weiden, bei konstantem Niveau und auf dem breiten Kamm, nimmt man den Weg Pian Pedenolo - Bocchetta Pedenolo. Ein Abschnitt des Weges, der nicht immer in idealem Zustand ist, überquert die Südflanke von Pedenolo. Auf dem Weg trifft man auch auf den Eingang der alten Eisenerzminen, die im 19. Jahrhundert genutzt wurden. An der Bocchetta di Pedenoletto angekommen, kehrt man ins Val Forcola zurück und nach einem flachen Abschnitt und einem letzten kurzen Anstieg erreicht man die Kaserne von Forcola und die Bocchetta di Forcola, den Schauplatz der Schützengräben aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg. Der Blick auf das Becken der Terza Cantoniera und den Stelvio-Pass ist unbezahlbar. Vom höchsten Punkt der Wanderung beginnt der lange Abstieg durch das Tal, umgeben von den imposanten Dolomitenwänden von Pedenolo und der strengen, aber zugleich majestätischen Präsenz des Monte Schumbraida. Vorbeigehend an der Malga di Forcola und dem Gebiet der Fornelle kehrt man bequem nach Solena und von dort zur Kirche S.Erasmo zurück.
