Document{{en=At the exit of Grosotto heading towards Grosio, shortly after the bridge over the Roasco, on the left you will find the parking lot at the entrance to the Rock Engraving Park (616 m). Leaving the car, take a dirt road that runs gently into a sparse chestnut grove flanking the left bank of the Roasco, a little-known and very relaxing 'corner' of nature. After passing a tunnel, the road, which slowly begins to climb, goes behind the rock where the San Faustino and Visconti Venosta castles, or Castello Nuovo, stand, then skirts the smooth Rupe Magna where the rock engravings are located. It is certainly worth making a short detour here, and within a few minutes you can admire the important petrographic complex of Grosio (the third in the Alps for number of engravings), with prehistoric depictions dating from the 4th millennium BC to the Iron Age, as well as the two recently restored castles which can be visited (see the sheet on page 94). With a series of wide curves, the dirt road finally gains altitude heading onto the road to Val Grosina near Ravoledo (766 m). Turn left, up to the hairpin bend, then take a steep straight mule track uphill that quickly reaches a group of houses located on a beautiful panoramic knoll. One of the buildings (and you will encounter others during the excursion) is curiously built upwards, narrow and completely of stone, without balconies; a particular architecture slightly different from the typical style of Alta Valtellina. The mule track continues through the chestnut trees, partly getting lost, until it joins a wide dirt road near the houses of Bedognolo (942 m). Passed this small cluster of houses, continue with a pleasant walk reaching the monumental trunk of a chestnut tree, the Bedognolo chestnut tree, actually rather dilapidated, which with a circumference of 12 meters is the largest in the entire province of Sondrio. The ascent continues steadily and quite steeply until reaching the houses located just below the little church of San Giacomo (14th century; 1054 m), situated on the left edge of the road to Val Grosina. From here, in a straight line, numerous mountain pastures and alpine pastures perched on the steep slopes of Val Grosina can be seen. On the descent, from Bedognolo you can stay on the main dirt road to Ravoledo. From the center of the village, turning right, the small road to the Rock Engraving Park and the starting point will be taken again., it=All'uscita di Grosotto in direzione di Grosio, poco dopo il ponte sul Roasco, s'incontra sulla sinistra il parcheggio posto all'ingresso del Parco delle Incisioni Rupestri (616 m). Lasciata l'auto s'imbocca una stradina sterrata che s'inoltra pianeggiante in un rado castagneto fiancheggiando la sponda sinistra orografica del Roasco, un ''angolo'' di natura poco conosciuto e molto rilassante. Passata una galleria la strada, che comincia lentamente a salire, sfila alle spalle della roccia dove sorgono i castelli di San Faustino e Visconti Venosta, o Castello Nuovo, per poi lambire la levigata Rupe Magna, dove si trovano le incisioni rupestri. Vale certamente la pena compiere una breve deviazione in tal senso, e in pochi minuti si potra' ammirare l'importante complesso petroglifico di Grosio (il terzo per numero d'incisioni nelle Alpi), con raffigurazioni preistoriche che vanno dal IV millennio a.C. all'et del Ferro, nonche' i due castelli, recentemente restaurati e visitabili (vedi scheda a pag. 94). Con una serie di ampie curve la sterrata prende infine decisamente quota immettendosi sulla carrozzabile per la Val Grosina presso Ravoledo (766 m). Si prende a sinistra, fino al tornante, per imboccare, a monte dello stesso, una ripida mulattiera rettilinea che sale in breve a un gruppo di case poste su un bel dosso panoramico. Uno degli edifici (e durante l'escursione se ne incontreranno altri) curiosamente sviluppato verso l'alto, stretto e completamente in pietra, senza balconi; un'architettura particolare, che si discosta un po' da quella tipica dell'Alta Valtellina. La mulattiera prosegue tra i castagni, perdendosi in parte, fino a immettersi in un'ampia sterrata nei pressi delle case di Bedognolo (942 m). Superato questo piccolo nucleo di case si continua con piacevole camminata giungendo a lambire il monumentale tronco di un castagno, il castagno di Bedognolo appunto, a dire la verita' piuttosto malconcio, che con una circonferenza di 12 metri il piu' grande di tutta la provincia di Sondrio. La salita prosegue costante e abbastanza ripida finche' si giunge alle abitazioni che sorgono poco a valle della chiesetta di San Giacomo (XIV sec.;1054 m), situata sul ciglio sinistro della strada per la Val Grosina. Da qui, d'infilata, si scorgono numerosi maggenghi e alpeggi abbarbicati sui ripidi fianchi della Val Grosina. In discesa, da Bedognolo si puo' restare sulla sterrata principale fino a Ravoledo. Dal centro del paese, prendendo a destra, si imbocchera' nuovamente la stradetta per il Parco delle Incisioni rupestri e il punto di partenza., de=Am Ausgang von Grosotto in Richtung Grosio, kurz nach der Brücke über den Roasco, befindet sich auf der linken Seite der Parkplatz am Eingang des Parks der Felsgravuren (616 m). Nach dem Abstellen des Autos führt ein unbefestigter Weg eben durch einen lichten Kastanienwald entlang des linken orografischen Ufers des Roasco, eine wenig bekannte und sehr entspannende Naturoase. Nach einer Galerie steigt der Weg allmählich an und führt hinter dem Felsen vorbei, wo die Schlösser von San Faustino und Visconti Venosta, auch Neues Schloss genannt, stehen, um dann an der glatten Rupe Magna vorbeizuführen, wo die Felsgravuren zu finden sind. Es lohnt sich, einen kurzen Abstecher zu machen, um in wenigen Minuten den bedeutenden Felsgravuren-Komplex von Grosio (der drittgrößte nach Anzahl der Gravuren in den Alpen) mit prähistorischen Darstellungen vom 4. Jahrtausend v. Chr. bis zur Eisenzeit sowie die beiden Schlösser zu bewundern, die kürzlich restauriert wurden und besichtigt werden können (siehe Infoblatt auf Seite 94). In weiten Kurven gewinnt der unbefestigte Weg schließlich deutlich an Höhe und mündet bei Ravoledo (766 m) auf die Mautstraße ins Val Grosina. Man biegt nach links ab bis zur Haarnadelkurve und nimmt oberhalb davon einen steilen, geraden Maultierpfad, der bald zu einer Gruppe von Häusern auf einer schönen Panoramaanhöhe führt. Eines der Gebäude (und man wird auf der Wanderung noch weitere sehen) ist seltsam hoch gebaut, schmal und ganz aus Stein, ohne Balkone; eine besondere Architektur, die sich etwas vom typischen Stil des Oberen Veltlin unterscheidet. Der Pfad setzt sich zwischen Kastanienbäumen fort, verliert sich stellenweise und mündet schließlich nahe den Häusern von Bedognolo (942 m) in einen breiten unbefestigten Weg. Nach diesem kleinen Weiler setzt man den angenehmen Spaziergang fort und passiert den monumentalen Stamm einer Kastanie, die Kastanie von Bedognolo, die mit einem Umfang von 12 Metern die größte der ganzen Provinz Sondrio ist, allerdings ziemlich mitgenommen. Der Aufstieg geht konstant und ziemlich steil weiter, bis man zu den Häusern gelangt, die etwas unterhalb der kleinen Kirche San Giacomo (14. Jh.; 1054 m) liegen, die am linken Straßenrand ins Val Grosina steht. Von hier aus erblickt man aneinander gereiht zahlreiche Hütten und Almen, die an den steilen Hängen des Val Grosina liegen. Beim Abstieg kann man von Bedognolo aus auf der Hauptstraße bis nach Ravoledo bleiben. Vom Ortszentrum aus biegt man rechts ab und nimmt erneut den Weg zum Park der Felsgravuren und zum Ausgangspunkt.}}
