Document{{en=From via Roma, turn right onto via Tonale, signs for hikes and fitness trail. The paved road climbs among the houses of the San Pietro hamlet and continues steeply to the upper edge of the meadows, where there is a small parking area before a no-entry sign. Leaving a flat dirt road to the right, the carriage road continues in the opposite direction for a few more dozen meters, turning into a very steep track suitable for off-road vehicles along a ski slope. The slope eases a bit with some hairpins in a relaxing larch forest, then turns right under the cableway wires and next to the entrance of the EcoFaunistic Observatory visits on request; see leaflet on page 30. Beyond a wide bend, the view opens to the elegant rocky pyramid of Dosso Paso' and the Palabione woods. Always following the slopes, without any possibility of mistake, you reach the upper station of the Palabione cable car 1677 m, near the homonymous Malga. Up to here, of course, in summer, you can use the ski lifts. Continue along the ski trails for about two hundred meters of elevation gain, then turn right to reach the well-visible Rifugio Valtellina 1920 m, situated in a panoramic position. From Rifugio Valtellina 1920 m, continue along the slopes; at a fork, follow the right path, passing under the chairlift. Always keeping right, you finally reach Lago Palabione 2109 m. Unfortunately, the water surface is partly enclosed by a metal fence. By the shore, there is the hiking sign for Malga Magnolta trail no. 329. Gaining further altitude along polished rocks, you leave behind the ski facilities, which have undoubtedly radically changed the landscape, to reach the start of a short traverse. This uphill stretch leads among rhododendrons to the right ridge, a few meters above the cross also clearly visible from below, altitude about 2200 m. The place is exceptionally panoramic over the middle Valtellina, the Aprica forests, the Trivigno basin, the underlying Malga Magnolta, and Monte Torena. Descend steep serpentine paths into a rocky valley, then turn left at the top of the Magnolta slopes. Descend briefly along the slope to Agriturismo La Malga 1945 m, tel. 335 246840. RETURN TO PALABIONE. From Magnolta, if desired, you can descend directly to Aprica using the cable car. Otherwise, paying attention to the signs, you must take a small path under the farmhouse marked trail no. 328. Entering the forest, descend to the right and, after crossing numerous steep hollows full of alders, move with less steepness into a pleasant, dense fir forest. A short climb brings you back to Malga Palabione, from where you descend to Aprica., it=Da via Roma si imbocca a destra via Tonale cartelli escursioni e percorso vita. La strada asfaltata sale tra le case della frazione di San Pietro e prosegue ripida fino al limite superiore dei prati, dove si trova un piccolo parcheggio prima di un cartello di divieto d'accesso. Lasciata a destra una sterrata pianeggiante, la carrozzabile prosegue nell'opposta direzione ancora per poche decine di metri, trasformandosi in una ripidissima traccia gippabile lungo una pista da sci. La pendenza si stempera un po' con alcuni tornanti in un rilassante bosco di larici, poi si piega verso destra sotto i cavi della cabinovia e di fianco all'entrata dell'Osservatorio EcoFaunistico visite su richiesta; vedi scheda a pagina 30. Oltre un'ampia svolta la vista si apre sull'elegante piramide rocciosa del Dosso Paso' e sui boschi del Palabione. Sempre seguendo le piste, senza possibilita' di errore si raggiunge la stazione superiore della cabinovia del Palabione 1677 m, presso la Malga omonima. Fin qui, ovviamente, d'estate si possono sfruttare gli impianti di risalita. Si continua lungo i tracciati sciistici per circa duecento metri di dislivello, deviando poi a destra a raggiungere il ben visibile Rifugio Valtellina 1920 m, situato in posizione panoramica. Dal Rifugio Valtellina 1920 m si prosegue lungo le piste; a una biforcazione si segue il tracciato di destra, transitando sotto la seggiovia. Sempre tenendo la destra si raggiunge finalmente il Lago Palabione 2109 m. Peccato che lo specchio d'acqua sia in parte delimitato da una rete metallica. Presso la riva si trova l'indicazione escursionistica per la Malga Magnolta segnavia n. 329. Guadagnando ulteriormente quota lungo rocce montonate si lasciano alle spalle gli impianti sciistici, che indubbiamente hanno modificato radicalmente il paesaggio, per portarsi all'inizio di una breve traversata. Questo tratto in salita conduce tra i rododendri al crinale di destra, pochi metri a monte della croce ben visibile anche dal basso quota 2200 m circa. Il luogo e' eccezionalmente panoramico sulla media Valtellina, sui boschi dell'Aprica, sulla conca di Trivigno, sulla sottostante Malga Magnolta e sul Monte Torena. Si scende con ripide serpentine in una valletta rocciosa, poi si piega a sinistra alla sommita' delle piste della Magnolta. Si scende brevemente lungo la pista fino all'Agriturismo La Malga 1945 m tel. 335 246840. RITORNO AL PALABIONE. Dalla Magnolta, volendo, si puo' scendere direttamente all'Aprica sfruttando la cabinovia. Altrimenti, prestando attenzione ai segnali, si deve imboccare un piccolo sentiero sotto l'agriturismo segnavia n. 328. Entrati nel bosco si scende verso destra e, attraversate numerose ripide vallette ingombre di ontani, si passa con minor pendenza a un gradevole, fitto bosco di abeti. Una breve risalita riporta alla Malga Palabione, dalla quale si scende all'Aprica., de=Von der Via Roma biegt man rechts in die Via Tonale ein, Wander- und Fitnesspfad-Schilder. Die asphaltierte Straße steigt zwischen den Häusern des Ortsteils San Pietro an und führt steil bis zum oberen Wiesenrand, wo sich ein kleiner Parkplatz vor einem Zufahrtsverbotsschild befindet. Eine ebene Schotterstraße wird rechts gelassen, während die Fahrstraße in die entgegengesetzte Richtung noch einige Dutzend Meter weiterführt und sich dann in einen sehr steilen, befahrbaren Pfad entlang einer Skipiste verwandelt. Die Steigung wird mit einigen Serpentinen in einem entspannten Lärchenwald etwas gemildert, dann biegt der Weg rechts unter den Kabinenseilbahnkabeln und neben dem Eingang des EcoFaunistischen Observatoriums ab, das Besichtigungen auf Anfrage anbietet; siehe Beschreibung auf Seite 30. Nach einer weiten Kurve öffnet sich der Blick auf die elegante Fels-Pyramide des Dosso Pasò und die Wälder des Palabione. Weiter auf den Pisten, ohne Möglichkeit zum Verlaufen, erreicht man die Bergstation der Palabione-Kabinenbahn auf 1677 m, in der Nähe der gleichnamigen Hütte. Bis hierhin können im Sommer natürlich die Aufstiegsanlagen genutzt werden. Man folgt den Skipisten für etwa zweihundert Höhenmeter weiter, biegt dann rechts ab und erreicht die gut sichtbare Rifugio Valtellina auf 1920 m, die sich an einer panoramareichen Stelle befindet. Vom Rifugio Valtellina 1920 m setzt man den Weg auf den Pisten fort. An einer Gabelung nimmt man den rechten Weg und passiert die Sesselliftunterführung. Immer rechts haltend erreicht man endlich den Lago Palabione auf 2109 m. Leider ist das Gewässer teilweise durch einen Metallzaun begrenzt. Am Ufer befindet sich die Wanderwegmarkierung zur Malga Magnolta, Wegzeichen Nr. 329. Weitere Höhenmeter gewinnend, entlang von von Wind geformten Felsformationen, verlässt man die Skipisten, die zweifellos die Landschaft stark verändert haben, und gelangt zum Anfang einer kurzen Querung. Dieser Aufstieg führt durch Rhododendren zum rechten Kamm, wenige Meter oberhalb des Kreuzes, das auch von unten gut zu sehen ist (ca. 2200 m). Der Ort bietet einen außergewöhnlichen Panoramablick auf das mittlere Veltlin, die Wälder von Aprica, das Trivigno-Becken, die darunterliegende Malga Magnolta und den Monte Torena. Mit steilen Serpentinen geht es hinab in ein felsiges Tal, dann biegt man an der Spitze der Pisten der Magnolta nach links ab. Kurz steigt man die Piste hinab bis zum Agriturismo La Malga auf 1945 m Tel. 335 246840. RÜCKKEHR ZUM PALABIONE. Von der Magnolta aus kann man, wenn gewünscht, direkt mit der Kabinenbahn nach Aprica hinabfahren. Andernfalls folgt man den Schildern und nimmt einen kleinen Pfad unterhalb des Agriturismo, Wegzeichen Nr. 328. Im Wald angekommen geht es rechts hinab, nachdem mehrere steile Täler mit Erlen durchquert wurden, gelangt man auf eine weniger steile Strecke in einen angenehmen, dichten Tannenwald. Ein kurzer Aufstieg führt zurück zur Malga Palabione, von wo aus man nach Aprica absteigt.}}
