The military site of "Le Buse", consisting of 17 buildings arranged in a semicircle as well as artillery positions, trenches and walkways, is located on a wide flat area reached by following the route of the Valle dei Vitelli which starts from the hairpin bend before the Second Cantoniera of Stelvio. It dates back to the First World War and is one of many testimonies of soldiers' life at high altitude. It has been subject to conservation maintenance by the staff of Stelvio National Park.

Il sito militare de “Le Buse”, comprendente ben 17 fabbricati disposti a semicerchio oltre a postazioni di artiglieria, trincee e camminamenti, è collocato su una vasta area pianeggiante che si raggiunge seguendo l’itinerario della Valle dei Vitelli che parte dal tornante precedente la Seconda Cantoniera dello Stelvio. Risale al primo conflitto mondiale ed è una delle tante testimonianze della vita dei soldati ad alta quota. E’ stato sottoposto ad interventi di manutenzione conservativa ad opera del personale del Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio.

Die Militäranlage „Le Buse“, bestehend aus 17 halbkreisförmig angeordneten Gebäuden sowie Artillerieposten, Schützengräben und Laufgräben, befindet sich auf einer weiten ebenen Fläche, die man entlang des Wegs im Valle dei Vitelli erreicht, der am Haarnadelbogen vor der Zweiten Stilfser Kantonie startet. Sie stammt aus dem Ersten Weltkrieg und ist eines der vielen Zeugnisse des Soldatenlebens in großer Höhe. Sie wurde vom Personal des Nationalparks Stilfserjoch konservatorisch instand gesetzt.
