The nucleus of Frasnedo is very characteristic, well preserved and cared for, offering passing tourists the warm hospitality of the refuge of the same name, owned by the consorzio d'alpe, which provides generous meals and overnight lodging.

The hamlet can be reached directly from Verceia or by leaving the car at Tracciolino (end of the pastoral road) with alternative routes along the Ratti stream.

It is possible to make a car permit for transit on the road leading to the Valle dei Ratti; it can be obtained in all bars in Verceia. The trail is well marked and passes through forests of ancient chestnut trees. Wanting to continue the walk, at the height of the refuge, a wide, slightly downhill track enters the valley leading to the Corveggia stables (1221 m) and the bridge over the stream at the bottom of the valley.

On the opposite side, continue following a wide track that climbs in twists and turns and reaches the houses of Alpe Nave (1454 m); just above, leave the signs for Rifugio Primalpia and continue again making an ascending traverse. It enters the forest again connecting with a wide track that must be followed to the huts of Alpe Lavazzo (1560 m), located on a terrace of this secondary valley called Val Codogno.

For those who feel up to it, the walk can continue further, adding three hours of walking. We head toward Corveggia, following small roads and paths that pass through the villages of Tabiate (1253 m), Camerate (1792 m), and Talamucca (2100 m).Passing the vast pastures, we come to the sight of a wide glacial amphitheater, where the Capanna Volta rises majestically.This place is surrounded by spectacular peaks: above all, Sasso Manduino (2888 m) and Pizzo Ligoncio (3033m).

The Volta Hut has a centuries-old history. Commissioned by the Como section of the Italian Alpine Club in the early 1900s, it stands in the upper Val dei Ratti at 2212m. Il nucleo di Frasnedo è molto caratteristico, ben conservato e curato, propone ai turisti di passaggio la calda ospitalità dell’omonimo rifugio, di proprietà del consorzio d’alpe, che offre pasti generosi e un alloggio per la notte.

Il borgo può essere raggiunto direttamente da Verceia oppure lasciando l’auto all’altezza del Tracciolino (fine strada pastorale) con possibilità di percorsi alternativi lungo il torrente Ratti.

E’ possibile fare il permesso auto per il transito sulla strada che porta alla Valle dei Ratti, lo si può richiedere in tutti i bar di Verceia. Il percorso è ben segnalato e attraversa boschi di castagni secolari. Volendo proseguire il cammino, all’altezza del rifugio, una larga traccia in leggera discesa si addentra nella valle portando alle stalle di Corveggia (1221 m) ed al ponte sul torrente di fondovalle.

Sull’opposto versante si prosegue seguendo una larga traccia che sale a svolte e raggiunge le case dell’Alpe Nave (1454 m), poco sopra si abbandonano le indicazioni per il Rifugio Primalpia e si prosegue ancora compiendo un traverso ascendendente. Si entra nel bosco raccordandosi nuovamente con un ampio tracciato che va seguito fino alle baite dell’Alpe Lavazzo (1560 m), posto su un terrazzo di questa valle secondaria chiamata Val Codogno.

Per chi se la sente, la passeggiata può proseguire oltre, aggiungendo tre ore di cammino. Si punta verso Corveggia, seguendo stradine e sentieri che attraversano i borghi di Tabiate (1253 m), Camerate (1792 m), Talamucca (2100 m).Superati i vasti pascoli si giunge al cospetto di un ampio anfiteatro glaciale, dove sorge maestosa la Capanna Volta. uesto luogo è circondato da spettacolari cime: su tutte, il Sasso Manduino (2888 m) e il Pizzo Ligoncio (3033m).

La Capanna Volta ha una storia secolare. Voluta dalla sezione del Club Alpino Italiano di Como nei primi anni del ‘900 sorge in alta Val dei Ratti a 2212 m. Der Weiler Frasnedo ist sehr charakteristisch, gut erhalten und gepflegt und bietet den durchreisenden Touristen die herzliche Gastfreundschaft der gleichnamigen Schutzhütte, die dem Alpenkonsortium gehört und großzügige Mahlzeiten und Übernachtungsmöglichkeiten bietet.

Der Weiler kann direkt von Verceia aus erreicht werden oder indem man das Auto in Tracciolino (Ende der Hirtenstraße) stehen lässt, mit der Möglichkeit einer alternativen Route entlang des Baches Ratti.

Für die Durchfahrt auf der Straße, die ins Valle dei Ratti führt, kann man in jeder Bar in Verceia eine Genehmigung für das Auto erhalten. Die Route ist gut ausgeschildert und führt durch Wälder mit jahrhundertealten Kastanienbäumen. Wenn man die Wanderung fortsetzen möchte, führt auf der Höhe der Hütte ein breiter, leicht abfallender Weg ins Tal, der zu den Corveggia-Ställen (1221 m) und zur Brücke über den Bach im Talgrund führt.

Auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite geht es auf einem breiten Weg weiter, der in Serpentinen bis zu den Häusern der Alpe Nave (1454 m) ansteigt. Kurz oberhalb verlassen wir die Beschilderung der Primalpia-Hütte und gehen auf einem ansteigenden Querweg weiter. Der Weg taucht in den Wald ein und mündet in einen breiten Pfad, dem man bis zu den Hütten der Alpe Lavazzo (1560 m) folgt, die auf einer Terrasse dieses Nebentals namens Val Codogno liegen.

Wer Lust hat, kann die Wanderung noch weiter fortsetzen, was drei Stunden in Anspruch nimmt. Wir gehen in Richtung Corveggia und folgen kleinen Straßen und Wegen, die durch die Dörfer Tabiate (1253 m), Camerate (1792 m) und Talamucca (2100 m) führen. Nachdem wir die ausgedehnten Weiden durchquert haben, kommen wir zu einem weiten Gletscheramphitheater, in dem sich die Capanna Volta majestätisch erhebt. Der Ort ist von spektakulären Gipfeln umgeben: vor allem der Peilstein (2888 m) und der Pizzo Ligoncio (3033 m).

Die Capanna Volta hat eine jahrhundertealte Geschichte. Sie wurde Anfang 1900 von der Sektion Como des italienischen Alpenvereins in Auftrag gegeben und steht im oberen Val dei Ratti auf 2212 m. Die Hütte bietet ca. 40 Betten, ist mit einer Küche mit Wasseranschluss, einem Holzofen und einer Vorratskammer mit Grundnahrungsmitteln ausgestattet und verfügt über eine kleine Kasse für die Bezahlung von Übernachtungen und Essen. https://volta.caicomo.it/
