The Bocchetta dei Lupi is the connection between Val Tartano and Val Madre. The toponym gives the right character to this hike in the Orobic Alps.

The starting point is in Val Lunga (Tartano), where the road ends at Scesure locality and the path 112 begins near a hairpin bend, to be followed up to the Porcile Lakes. The path crosses the typical landscapes of these Alps: coniferous woods, pastures with mountain huts and barek (dry stone enclosures) then - above 1,900 meters altitude - rocky outcrops, rhododendrons and sparse larches. The first lake, called "Small", is at 2,005 m a.s.l. The "Large" lake, the second, is slightly higher (2,030 m) and is to be skirted - as indicated by the signs - in the direction of the Dordona Refuge. The path is the GVO, the Great Orobic Route. The track climbs with some steepness and reaches the Bocchetta dei Lupi - with a view - at 2,316 m altitude. The path 201A descends to the Dordona Refuge in Val Madre, a welcoming refuge in the Orobics.

The return follows the same itinerary.

La bocchetta dei Lupi è il collegamento tra la Val Tartano e la Val Madre. Il toponimo dà il giusto carisma a questa escursione sulle Alpi Orobie.

Il punto di partenza è in Val Lunga (Tartano), dove la strada termina in località Scesure ed inizia - in prossimità di un tornante - il sentiero 112, da seguire fino ai laghi di Porcile. Il sentiero attraversa i paesaggi tipici di queste Alpi: boschi di conifere, pascoli con casere e barek (recinti in pietra a secco) poi - oltre i 1.900 metri di quota - roccette, rododendri e radi larici. Il primo lago, detto "Piccolo", è a 2.005 m slm. Il lago "Grande", il secondo, è poco più su (M 2.030) ed è da costeggiare - come indica la segnaletica - in direzione Rifugio Dordona. Il sentiero è la GVO, la Gran Via Delle Orobie. La traccia sale con una certa pendenza e raggiunge la bocchetta - con panorama - dei Lupi a 2.316 m di altitudine. Il sentiero 201A scende al Rifugio Dordona in Val Madre, un accogliente rifugio tra le Orobie.

Il ritorno segue lo stesso itinerario.

Die Bocchetta dei Lupi ist die Verbindung zwischen dem Val Tartano und dem Val Madre. Der Ortsname verleiht dieser Wanderung in den Orobischen Alpen einen besonderen Charme.

Der Ausgangspunkt liegt im Val Lunga (Tartano), wo die Straße in der Ortschaft Scesure endet und nahe einer Haarnadelkurve der Weg 112 beginnt, dem man bis zu den Porcile-Seen folgt. Der Weg führt durch die typischen Landschaften dieser Alpen: Nadelwälder, Almen mit Hütten und Barek (Trockensteinmauern), dann – über 1.900 Meter Höhe – Felsformationen, Rhododendren und vereinzelte Lärchen. Der erste See, genannt „Kleiner“, liegt auf 2.005 m ü. NN. Der zweite See, „Großer“, befindet sich etwas höher (2.030 m) und wird, wie die Wegmarkierung zeigt, in Richtung Rifugio Dordona umrundet. Der Weg ist Teil der GVO, der Gran Via Delle Orobie. Der Pfad steigt mit mäßiger Steigung an und erreicht die Bocchetta dei Lupi mit Aussicht auf 2.316 m Höhe. Der Weg 201A führt hinunter zur Rifugio Dordona im Val Madre, einer einladenden Hütte in den Orobie.

Der Rückweg folgt derselben Route.
