Arrivati alla localita' Nagler, all'arrivo del primo tronco della funivia e dove ci sono un paio di strutture alberghiere, si entra sul ghiacciaio della Vedretta Piana e si prosegue in direzione del Monte Livrio dove si trova anche l'omonimo rifugio stando sempre alla destra delle piste da sci. In fondo alla piana, si prosegue a destra arrivando sul ghiacciaio dei Vitelli e si continua facendo attenzione ad attraversare una pista da sci ed un impianto di risalita. Poco dopo stando alla sinistra di un'evidente bancata rocciosa si risale il pendio per poi piegare verso destra fino alla cresta. Von der Stilfserjochbahn aus beginnt man in südöstlicher Richtung die Skipiste aufzusteigen, wobei man sich angemessen am Rand aufhält. Wenn man die Ortschaft Nagler erreicht, wo die erste Sektion der Seilbahn ankommt und wo es einige Hotels gibt, betritt man den Vedretta Piana Gletscher und fährt weiter in Richtung Monte Livrio, wo sich auch die gleichnamige Hütte befindet, wobei man sich immer rechts der Skipisten hält. Am Ende der Ebene hält man sich rechts und kommt auf den Vitelli-Gletscher, wo man eine Skipiste und einen Skilift überquert. Kurz danach hält man sich links von einer offensichtlichen Felsbank und steigt den Hang hinauf, um dann nach rechts zum Kamm zu gehen. Wenn man dem Grat weiter in Richtung Norden folgt, erreicht man den höchsten Nebengipfel.
