Start near the detour to the Paradiso refuge in Plaghera and follow the quiet Gavia road that climbs with little incline surrounded by a beautiful forest of firs, larches and stone pines. After a hairpin bend the road goes to lap the ski slopes (At this point it is also possible to climb directly from the arrival of the Plaghera chairlift, passing to the left of the lift) and then enter halfway up the slope to the left, following the road as far as Ponte dell'Alpe (2289 m). Gradually diagonally heading west, climb the interrupted slopes until you reach the start of the Valle dell'Alpe ski lift near the ski slopes of the Santa Caterina Valfurva ski area. Past the chairlift, follow the obvious vallecola to its end; at this point you lose a few meters of elevation gain and, having passed the stream bed, continue along the wide amphitheater of the upper part of Valle dell'Alpe. When you reach a plateau you go slightly to the right and overcome a steep section, then continue, more or less in the center of the valley gradually bending to the right. Arriving at the base of the final steeper impluvium, you climb it, arriving on the eastern ridge of the mountain, and bending to the left you briefly reach the summit. Just past the chairlift it is possible, bending to the right, to pass over a plateau that leads back to join the upper part of the classic route.

Si parte in prossimita' della deviazione per il rifugio Paradiso a Plaghera e si va a seguire la tranquilla strada del Gavia che sale con poca pendenza immersa in un bellissimo bosco di abeti, larici e pini cembri. Dopo un tornante la strada va a lambire le piste da sci (In questo punto e' possibile salire direttamente anche dall'arrivo della seggiovia di Plaghera, passando a sinistra dell'impianto di risalita) per poi entrare a mezza costa verso sinistra seguendo la strada fino al Ponte dell'Alpe (2289 m). Gradualmente in diagonale in direzione ovest, si salgono gli interrotti pendii fino ad arrivare alla partenza dell'impianto di risalita Valle dell'Alpe in prossimita' delle piste da sci del comprensorio sciistico di Santa Caterina Valfurva. Superata la seggiovia, si segue l'evidente vallecola fino al suo termine; a questo punto si perdono pochi metri di dislivello e superato l'alveo del torrente si prosegue lungo l'ampio anfiteatro della parte alta della Valle dell'Alpe. Arrivati in un pianoro si va leggermente a destra e si supera un tratto ripido, per proseguire poi, piu' o meno al centro della valle piegando gradualmente verso destra. Arrivati alla base dell'impluvio finale piu' ripido, lo si sale arrivando sulla cresta orientale della montagna e piegando a sinistra si arriva brevemente sulla vetta. Appena passata la seggiovia e' possibile, piegando a destra, passare sopra un altopiano che riporta a congiungersi con la parte alta dell'itinerario classico.

Man beginnt in der Nähe der Abzweigung zur Paradiso-Hütte in Plaghera und folgt der ruhigen Gavia-Straße, die mit geringer Steigung durch einen schönen Tannen-, Lärchen- und Zirbenwald ansteigt. Nach einer Haarnadelkurve führt die Straße an den Skipisten vorbei (an dieser Stelle kann man auch direkt von der Ankunftsstelle des Sessellifts Plaghera aufsteigen, indem man links am Skilift vorbeifährt) und biegt dann auf halber Höhe des Hangs nach links ab, wobei man der Straße bis nach Ponte dell'Alpe (2289 m) folgt. Nun geht es allmählich schräg in westlicher Richtung die unterbrochenen Pisten hinauf, bis man den Beginn des Skilifts Valle dell'Alpe in der Nähe der Skipisten des Skigebiets Santa Caterina Valfurva erreicht. Nach dem Sessellift folgt man dem offensichtlichen Tal bis zu seinem Ende; hier verliert man einige Höhenmeter und geht nach dem Flussbett weiter entlang des breiten Amphitheaters des oberen Teils des Valle dell'Alpe. Wenn man eine Hochebene erreicht, geht man leicht nach rechts und überwindet ein steiles Stück, um dann mehr oder weniger in der Mitte des Tals weiterzugehen, das sich allmählich nach rechts neigt. Am Fuße des letzten, steileren Schwemmkegels angekommen, steigt man zum östlichen Bergrücken hinauf und erreicht in einer Linkskurve kurz darauf den Gipfel. Sobald der Sessellift vorbeifährt, kann man, indem man nach rechts abbiegt, ein Plateau überqueren, das zum oberen Teil des klassischen Weges zurückführt.
