Document{{en=Prato Valentino is a 16 km climb not very well known among bike lovers, even though it has a particular charm. you go up from San Giacomo at 357 m a.s.l. among the vineyards and terracing typical of this area, where the wine of Valtellina D.O.C.G. is produced. You are on the Raethian side of the mountain, the sunniest one and you follow a well-maintained road. After 4 km, the ascent becomes more demanding with gradients around 7-8% until Teglio, homeland of the famous pizzoccheri' and birthplace of the name Valtellina. Again a wide open section leads you to an alpine wood and, to Prato Valentino, appreciated ski resort, at 1645 m a.s.l. The hardest sections are between 12.5 and 13.5 km with a 10% gradient, as well as between 14.2 and 15.2 km. Demanding is also the last part with a 10% gradient, before enjoying the well-deserved rest at the alpine hut, open all year round., it=Prato Valentino e' una salita di 16 km poco conosciuta dal grande pubblico del ciclismo ma che possiede un fascino particolare. Si sale da San Giacomo, 357 m tra i vigneti ed i terrazzamenti tipici della zona dove viene prodotto il vino di Valtellina D.O.C.G.. Il versante e' quello retico, il piu' esposto al sole e ci si arrampica su una strada molto ben tenuta. Dopo 4 km la pendenza diventa piu' impegnativa con picchi fino al 7-8% fino a Teglio, patria dei pizzoccheri e paese che da' il nome a tutta la valle tellina. Ancora un tratto aperto e poi ci si addentra in un bosco alpino che porta ai 1676 m di Prato Valentino. I tratti piu' duri sono quelli tra il km 12,5 ed il km 13,5 al 10% cosi' come quello tra il km 14,2 e km 15,2. Impegnativo anche il finale, al 10%, prima di godersi il meritato riposo al rifugio aperto tutto l'anno., de=Der Prato Valentino ist ein 16 Kilometer langer Anstieg, der dem allgemeinen Radfahrpublikum kaum bekannt ist, aber einen besonderen Reiz ausübt. Der Anstieg beginnt in San Giacomo auf 357 m Höhe inmitten von Weinbergen und Terrassen, die typisch für das Gebiet sind, in dem der Wein Valtellina D.O.C.G. hergestellt wird. Die Steigung ist der rätische Hang, der am meisten der Sonne ausgesetzt ist, und man fährt auf einer sehr gut gepflegten Straße. Nach 4 km wird die Steigung anspruchsvoller, mit Spitzenwerten von bis zu 7-8% bis nach Teglio, der Heimat der Pizzoccheri und der Stadt, die dem gesamten Tellina-Tal seinen Namen gibt. Nach einem weiteren offenen Abschnitt gelangt man in einen Bergwald, der zum 1676 m hohen Prato Valentino führt. Die schwierigsten Abschnitte sind die zwischen km 12,5 und km 13,5 mit 10 % sowie zwischen km 14,2 und km 15,2. Auch der letzte Abschnitt mit 10 % ist anspruchsvoll, bevor man sich in der ganzjährig geöffneten Schutzhütte eine wohlverdiente Pause gönnt.}}
