Introducing our ambassador and part of Team Bormio, made up of the most talented local sports people from a range of disciplines. The story of Pietro Zazzi, a skier from Bormio who made it to the big leagues, is one of passion, determination and dedication.
We're proud to announce our collaboration with Bormio’s very own Pietro Zazzi, who will continue in his role as Ambassador for Bormio for the 2025-26 winter season.
He has consistently demonstrated perseverance, commitment and dedication, while never taking anything for granted, proving time and again that hard work and effort always pay off. It's these values that led us to select him as our spokesperson.
From the Stelvio slope to the Alpine Ski World Cup
Pietro Zazzi's (aka Pepe) skiing career began on the slopes of Bormio and has reached the heights of the international ski circuit, competing in World Cup races.
The only member of the Italian national team to also be a member of a local ski club, Bormio's Reit Ski Team, Pietro's journey began at the Bormio ski club. It’s here that he grew both as a person and as an athlete, proving he could go the distance.
Thanks to plenty of hard work and sacrifice, he made it into the national alpine ski A-team and has been at the starting gate for some of the biggest races in the World Cup calendar, finishing in the top 30 at the downhill event at Kitzbühel, one of the most challenging on the circuit.
For the last two years he's also competed in the World Cup downhill race in Bormio on the Stelvio piste. Despite the pressure and excitement of racing on home turf (or slope in this case), he always manages to stay grounded.
Bormio and Pietro Zazzi: towards the 2026 Winter Olympics
We're delighted to see Pietro representing Bormio on the world stage. A place that, alongside our neighbours Valfurva, Valdisotto, Valdidentro and Sondalo, not only boasts a proud history stretching back millennia, but has left its mark on ski racing.
As Zazzi’s career continues to go from strength to strength, Bormio is gearing up to become an Olympic venue, due to host the men's Alpine ski events, as well as the debut of the ski mountaineering event, on the legendary Stelvio slope.
