Starting from Aprica, you ascend using the Magnolta cable car. Immediately after getting off the lift, the start of the route is right in front of you. The path initially follows the dirt road which, passing by the small lake dedicated to sport fishing, reaches the Malga Magnolta agritourism. From this point, the route turns east, and after passing the agritourism, you find the first thematic boards illustrating curiosities about wood and its multiple uses. We continue onto the "Gran via del Gallo" crossing (during winter, these crossings connect the Magnolta area with Palabione at altitude) and keeping to the right, start an easy climb while following the ski slope. At this point, the route is very scenic and offers beautiful views of Valtellina, the Orobie Alps, the Rhaetian Alps, and the Pian di Gembro nature reserve.

After passing the statue dedicated to the Madonna del Carmine, we reach the fork that leaves the ski slope and descends to the left.

The path descends until it reaches the CAI Valtellina refuge.
