Stelvio Family Trek: Val d'Uzza Loop

Start from the Church of the Holy Crucifix in Piazza di Combo in Bormio, continue towards the Church of the Blessed Virgin of Sassello where the trail S540.2 begins, leading to Uzza in Valfurva, connecting to the cycle path along the Frodolfo stream.

After crossing the Pont da Carosa, just after the Bait da Mighel refreshment stop, there is a steep climb leading to the provincial road that crosses Valfurva. After a few meters, on the left, continue on the paved road that connects Teregua to the entrance of the military road of Ables. From here, the route continues on trail S511, initially leading to the locality Casina Bassa, where a small rural building is located.

In spring and summer, it is possible to spot some dairy cows grazing in this area. Upon reaching the locality Premezzano, continue towards Santelon, where you can visit the ruins of Bormio Castle and the Gesa rota.

From here, descend towards Bormio and Piazza di Combo along a well-marked carriage road.
