From the parking area at Niblogo, at Madonna dei Monti, take bridleway S529 through the entire Val Zebru' to the Baite di Campo and Baita del Pastore, from which you continue up along the steep and winding path S516 to a height of 2,500 metres above sea level, with views of the Cima Trafoi and the Gran Zebru'. Opposite, to the north, note the rocky limestone face of the Sasso Rotondo and the Passo dei Volontari and dei Camosci, major transit routes to the Stelvio Pass during the Great War. From the bottom of the former cable car up to the Quinto Alpini Refuge, continue along path S516 with a regular climb through white screes and moraines winding through a bowl surrounded by distinctive towers, almost like the Dolomites. A final traverse brings you to the Quinto Alpini Refuge, where chamois can sometimes be seen grazing.
