La strada per raggiungere il rifugio Dordona parte da Fusine dove si deve acquistare il pass. Dopo un primo tratto in salita asfaltato, la strada prosegue lungo la Valmadre su una strada non asfaltata, parecchio accidentata: si consiglia di percorrerla con un'auto 4x4. Si suggerisce di spingersi fino in fondo alla valle e parcheggiare sullo slargo in prossimita' dei tornanti (Posizioni suggerite alle coordinate N 46 04'07,52 E 9 45'55,22 oppure N 46 04'08,26 E 9 45'38,18 o zone attigue). La salita con joelette verso il rifugio Dordona (accessibile) e' agevole e vale la pena di spingersi fino al passo dove ci sono ancora resti di trincee della prima Guerra Mondiale, per poi ritornare al rifugio e godersi il panorama mangiando le specialita' della casa.
