Pleasant and simple loop itinerary immersed in a wild and unfrequented alpine environment. A plateau hides the Pian del Lago lake, a wonderful place where a stop and picnic is a must to appreciate a picture-postcard view. The lake lends itself to a nice swim and cool down on hot summer days. The shepherds' hut near the alpine lake provides a place of shelter in case of storms. Also an excellent route for an upland run. Having parked the car in the Malghera locality, after displaying a ticket for the sylvo-pastoral road that can be made in the Fusino locality or directly at the Malghera Refuge, head for the Sanctuary, pass it and continue in the direction of the Malghera Malga. Once you pass the Malga, the dirt road becomes a path that continues high over the hydrographic right of the Roasco River (if you want to go clockwise). When you reach the Pian di Mez after the horse hump, continue a little further until you pass a small wooden bridge. A little further on, the fork of trail No. 225.1 veers to the right and back onto the opposite side of the valley. The trail climbs further in elevation until it meets a small lake called Piansortivo Lake, then continues up and down to Pian del Lago Lake. After a break and the usual photo, you return downhill to Malghera and then find yourself at Malga di Malghera and for a short stretch in common with the outward route you return to the Sanctuary and then to Rifugio Malghera where a nice plate of pizzocheri and the friendliness of the fabricieri await you.
