Between the two maggenghi of Our di Fondo and Our di Cima, a dirt road begins that in about an hour leads to the scenic grassy balcony of Alpe Granda. Leaving on the left the small hill of Cima di Granda, take right, where, after climbing the pasture, you will find the new Alpe Granda refuge (1688 m above sea level). A path goes through the forest, passing through alpe Merla until, after two hairpin bends, you reach the middle part of the wide pasture of Scermendone, astride the long ridge that separates the Valtellina from the eastern part of Valmasino. From here you can enjoy a spectacular view, ranging over much of the Valtellina and the Orobie to the south, the great peaks of Valmasino to the north, Monte Disgrazia to the east and the mountains of the Ce'ch ridge to the west. After crossing the small lake near a hut, continue along the ridge to the destination: the very ancient church of S. Quirico, known here as San Ce'res (2131 m above sea level). The return follows the same itinerary.
