The starting point is the locality of Malghera, with ample parking availability, reached by an 11 km road starting from Fusino. This is an almost entirely paved road and in several sections quite narrow; in case of oncoming vehicles, it is useful to promptly identify an area for passing. A pass must be purchased in Fusino to travel it. At the end of the valley near a signpost, the trail returns south, continuing along a rather steep traverse for about 30 minutes. There are no stopping points along this section and turning around can be difficult. The route is recommended with experienced joëlette operators and, on some steep sections, requires the contribution of 4 people. If available, the use of a servo-assisted joëlette is advised. It is a very beautiful route, full of charm and great satisfaction. It alternates views of wide pastures with sights of beautiful peaks; the stop near the lake richly repays the effort made and prepares the spirit to face the descent on the return.
