From Chiavenna to Acquafraggia Waterfalls with joëlette

Also mentioned by Leonardo Da Vinci in his "Atlantic Codex", they are located in the municipality of Piuro and are clearly visible from the road. The homonymous stream originates at 3050 m, at Pizzo di Lago, and descending towards the valley floor crosses two hanging valleys, both of glacial origin, at about 2000 and 1000 m above sea level respectively. The Acqua Fraggia stream thus forms a series of waterfalls, of which the lower ones with their famous double drop are the most scenic. The proposed route starts from Chiavenna, a town well worth visiting, and follows for a long stretch the cycle-pedestrian path that reaches the border with Switzerland. At the coordinates point N 46° 19.559' E 9° 25.407' (waypoint on track) keep left and continue along the route that runs alongside the state road. Shortly after, the state road is crossed via an underpass and in a short time the area with the waterfalls is reached.
