From Arnoga, head east on trail N195 and, after a first stretch where you can admire a beautiful view of Cima Piazzi, enter the Breitina Forest. You reach the Foscagno Valley and cross the watercourse. Continuing along the main path, you exit the forest, pass the Morzaglia Alp, and arrive at the Gattonino Alp. Here there is an important crossroads with signs indicating different destinations. The route continues straight toward the rocky massif of the Cime di Plator. You cross the Sant'Antonio forest and reach the junction with a wide paved road leading up to Cancano. At this point, you have covered 10 kilometers, all flat, also used by marathon runners for high-altitude training. Climbing the road for a couple of hairpin bends and passing two tunnels, you reach the saddle of the Torri di Fraele. From there you continue, in a very picturesque environment, towards Lago delle Scale and the Cancano dams.
