The proposed itinerary is a circular route that allows you to admire the Valtellina vineyards from a different perspective. It is a path also recommended for families, given the little elevation change to face. It can be traveled all year round but, obviously due to its strong sun exposure, it is especially advisable in winter when other routes are not passable. The journey starts from Loc. Piatta and in a short time you reach, at the highest point of the proposed itinerary, the Masso Altare (it is a large erratic block in the shape of an irregular parallelepiped whose top face, engraved with cup marks and channels, is inclined towards the north), a historical testimony that territorially divides the municipalities of Sondrio and Castione Andevenno. From this point you descend first along a path and then a farm road until Loc. Pradella. From here the Balcone path begins. The Balcone path is the highlight of this route; it is a hiking connection between the vineyards at an altitude of about 700 m, recently restored (in 2016) as part of the Cantieri in Quota action. Returning to Loc. Piatta, we turn left and head to Loc. Ca' Martinelli from which a section of the itinerary 'of memories and efforts' is traveled, bringing you back onto the paved road to Triangia and then to Loc. Piatta.
