The path first winds up through meadows and along the Alpe stream. After the initial climb you come to a junction and continue up path S565. The climb is easy and you pass the cave named the Grotta dell'Edelweiss in an area known for the presence of edelweiss. The trail continues through the remains of trenches and forts from the Great War up to the Sunny Valley Refuge at an altitude of 2,775 m.
