From the San Colombano Rest Stop, head west along path N280. After passing the San Colombano Chapel, in the locality of Prei, continue along path N208 which joins path N286. Then you reach Alpe Boron. This route runs on a natural surface road with panoramic points in Prei and in Costa San Colombano. At the beginning of the climb leading to the San Colombano Chapel, there is a spring, one of the San Carlo Springs which, according to a belief from pagan culture, have extraordinary healing powers. In the Christian era, the small temple was dedicated to Saint Colombano, dispenser of fertility, and attracted numerous pilgrimages of women who asked to be healed from sterility. It is said that a woman who, after the pilgrimage, was granted the grace to have children. On the sixth child, she returned to the chapel to thank the Saint and ask him to suspend the grace.
