Valfurva is considered a freetouring paradise and is nestled in the beautiful Stelvio National Park. With the cooperation of the Santa Caterina ski lift company, the managed trail runs from the Santa Caterina cross-country ski trail to Plaghera, allowing for an atmospheric ascent into the forest. When you reach the end of the skimo trail, if you are an experienced ski mountaineer or accompanied by an Alpine Guide, you can continue on the snow-covered Gavia Road and reach the Sunny Valley hut or Mount Sobretta.
