Valfurva is considered a paradise for freetouring and is immersed in the splendid Stelvio National Park. With the collaboration of the Santa Caterina lift company, the managed route extends from the Santa Caterina cross-country ski trail to Plaghera, allowing a scenic ascent within the forest. At the end of the skimo trail, if you are an experienced ski mountaineer or accompanied by an Alpine Guide, you can continue on the snow-covered Gavia Road and reach the Sunny Valley hut or Monte Sobretta.
