The journey starts from the railway station, going up towards Ponte and taking a left onto the road that climbs through apple orchards and passes the beautiful 14th-century chapel of San Rocco. The route then enters Val Fontana and continues on asphalt with manageable slopes around 10%. Afterwards, you cross the stream on a covered wooden bridge and, after a series of hairpin bends, reach the cluster of huts of Sant'Antonio. Shortly after, the asphalt gives way to a dirt path with slopes also above 10%. You arrive at the splendid Piano dei Cavalli in an unspoiled environment rich in summer pastures and meadows, now in sight of the valley floor. The route ends at Alpe Campiascio at about 1700 meters. Starting from Ponte, there is a much shorter alternative route that turns left after the church of San Rocco and leads to San Bernardo.
