The start is from the fourth tollhouse of the Stelvio Pass at 2488 m; you enter Swiss territory, and after the pass, take the trail that climbs after the signpost bar indicating Piz Umbrail. The first stretch on the trail is not rideable due to the surface, but then improves until the end of the meadow and the start of the scree. From that point onward, the bike must be pushed and higher up carried on the shoulder: you face several passages with many boulders to overcome, also eased by the presence of fixed ropes. After the ritual photos at the summit of Piz Umbrail 3033 m, the descent begins, all to be done riding our MTB. The first part of the track involves negotiating many rather steep hairpin turns with loose stones. Then the surface compacts and the trail becomes smoother and faster. Near Lake Rims 2396 m, the route becomes increasingly smooth up to its shores, where it turns grassy and, continuing right with numerous hairpins, meets the Val Vau road at 1940 m, which rises from Santa Maria in Val Mustair in the Grisons. A climb awaits us up to over 2200 meters at Alp Clastra, then we start descending gradually into Val Mora until the Cancano Lakes at San Giacomo di Fraele 1952 m (see route no. 26).
