The climb is entirely on asphalt with an accessible and consistent slope up to the locality of Campo Franscia. You cross the characteristic tunnels carved into the rock: some are long and dark, so it is recommended to carry lights. In the next stretch, the slope increases; you go through various hairpin bends and short tunnels to reach the parking lots of the two Campo Moro huts near the homonymous artificial lake. In the distance looms the other large dam of Alpe Gera, which can be reached to admire high mountain landscapes with peaks and glaciers. From Campo Moro, it is possible to connect to route no. 41: you cross the two dams, descend under the second, and then climb back to Campolungo on dirt roads and trails.
