The strenuous ascent up the Sacco Valley on a paved road is the most challenging part of this loop route in the Valgrosina: some sections are very steep and require medium motor assistance. The long ride along the valley floor takes place in a pristine and well-maintained mountain environment. The final tear leads to Alpe Malghera lying on a wide plateau occupied by numerous huts and its imposing Sanctuary. The beginning of the return trip takes place at altitude on a trail for about 1.5 kilometers. The next route on dirt roads coincides with that of Sentiero Italia and develops in the woods, allowing you to get to know the pastures of Pedruna, Guinzana and Piana before arriving at the little church of Supiani. From here you take a dirt road to the left that soon becomes a path and leads back to Val di Sacco in the locality of Pier, from where you return to Fusino. Text and photos by Federico Pollini.
