This is a short stage with mostly downhill elevation, transferring towards the heights above the ski resorts of Chiesa Valmalenco. From Rifugio Longoni you head east towards the Torrente Entovasco where you turn south to follow the slopes along the valley of the Torrente Mallero. After passing the Alpe Sasso Nero, you reach the view of Lago Palù, nestled in a beautiful basin surrounded by pastures and coniferous woods. On its northern shore stands the homonymous cozy refuge.
