The journey begins with a gentle warm-up on the main road of Livigno, which gradually increases in gradient towards Passo Forcola. After a short section in town with two brief ups and downs, the route becomes more relaxed, with a false flat that gently accompanies you to the start of the climb to Passo Forcola. The climb initially has not very demanding gradients, which then become steeper in the final part that passes through the Forcola tunnels. Once at the Pass, you can enjoy a spectacular view of the valley.

A short descent followed by a stretch of flats and false flats takes you to the Swiss customs. Entering Swiss territory, the route heads downhill towards Bernina. After the descent, the road becomes more intense, with a climb that, although not intense and demanding, offers strong emotions. Conquering the iconic Bernina pass will reward you with strong emotions and an extraordinary view.

The route continues with a long descent passing through Pontresina, retracing part of the route followed by the famous Red Train, a UNESCO heritage site. The road then flattens and after crossing Celerina and Samedan, the route winds through some picturesque Swiss villages before tackling the last climbs of the ride, between Zernez and the Schera Tunnel.

The first of the last two climbs of the ride gradually becomes steeper until reaching quite demanding gradients. A short stretch of false flat followed by the last short but intense climb. After tackling the last section of the climb, you can relax by descending to the entrance of the Schera Tunnel.

Passage through the tunnel is not possible by bicycle, but you can take one of the many bike shuttles that will transport you beyond the tunnel (for more information consult the Livigno page: https://www.ekwstrom.ch/it/livigno/bike-shuttle).

After getting off the bike shuttle, you get back on the saddle to pedal along the suggestive Livigno dam, with a spectacular view of the lake and surrounding mountains. A final flat stretch under the semi-open Gallo galleries will offer you an additional visual wonder along Lake Livigno. And finally, you will return to the starting point, satisfied and with your heart full of emotions.

A unique experience among alpine passes, Swiss villages, and breathtaking landscapes. This route, also suitable for less experienced cyclists, is a perfect blend of effort, adrenaline, and natural beauty. A ride that will take you to climb Passo Bernina, discover hidden corners of Switzerland, and live an experience that will remain in the heart of every road biker.
