An ancient peasant custom, blending religion and tradition, that has remained intact to this day: the Pasquali are a unique event that has its roots in the past and still today attracts the attention and active participation of all the residents of Bormio. In the various Districts (neighborhoods) of the town (Buglio, Combo, Dossiglio, Dossorovina, and Maggiore), groups of people form under the guidance of a leader to prepare their project. The event is made even more evocative by the participation of children, families, and folklore groups, all dressed in traditional costumes. The pasqualisti carry the portable altars on their shoulders, while the women complete the parade with flowers and small handmade products.
The Pasquali remain on display in the Kuerc square until Easter Monday at 7:00 PM.
