The historic center of Bormio, from Piazza del Kuerc to Piazzetta San Vitale, will be transformed into a single 800-meter-long table, ready to welcome all guests to enjoy authentic pizzoccheri, handmade by the restaurants in the area.
It will be a Sunday dedicated to good food, with plenty of tastings of local products and wines and an unmissable opportunity to enjoy company while eating, laughing, and having fun!
And then there will be traditional music, dancing, and entertainment.
The day’s program
From 12:30 p.m. – Everyone to the table!
Take your seat and start enjoying the traditional appetizers: Salamet and slinzega della Contea with the cheeses from our local farmers.
All accompanied by the Wines of the Consorzio di Tutela dei Vini di Valtellina and Fonte Levissima Water.
1:00 p.m. – At the sound of the Bajona, the Pizzoccheri arrive!
As tradition dictates, at 1:00 p.m. the historic Bajona of Bormio will kick off the most eagerly awaited moment of the day: the traditional Pizzoccheri, served simultaneously לאורך all 800 meters of the table.
Next, buckwheat cake and Valtellina apples will be served.
Experience the celebration from the very beginning
We recommend arriving a little early and taking a stroll through the historic center. You’ll be able to soak up the festive atmosphere, watch the preparations, see the volunteers setting up the 800-meter-long table in the historic streets, and observe the cooks as they knead, cut, and get ready to cook the true stars of the event: the Pizzoccheri.
Throughout the day, the historic center will come alive with traditional music, folk dances, and entertainment, to enjoy a true celebration together in the heart of Bormio.

Can I bring my pet?
Pizzoccherata is a large communal lunch with many people seated along one long table. To ensure the comfort, safety, and respect of all participants, dogs and other animals are not allowed, even if they are small.
Plan B in case of bad weather
In the event of weather conditions deemed unsuitable by the organizers, or for justified organizational reasons, the event will be reorganized, with part of the tables moved inside the participating restaurants and to the Pentagono di Bormio; the Pizzoccherata 2026 will take place regularly on Sunday 6 September.
Since the event will not be canceled but only reorganized, no ticket refunds will be issued in the event of non-attendance.
All participants must make their own way to the assigned venue using their own transport: no shuttle or transfer service will be provided.
Any activation of the bad-weather plan will be announced by 10:00 a.m. on Saturday 5 September 2026 through an official notice published on bormio.eu.
