Winter in Bormio offers plenty of opportunities for family fun both on and off the ski slopes, with activities for kids of all ages.

In Bormio in winter, there are many opportunities to have fun in the snow with your family: not only skiing, but also other winter activities for children and teenagers.

Playgrounds, nursery and fun slopes

In Bormio you can find kindergartens, fun parks and nursery slopes.

The Trudi Park at the bottom of the gondola station in Bormio is perfect for sledging or trying skiing for the very first time.

Santa Caterina Valfurva offers a learner slope near La Fonte, and the Mirtilla Land baby park where your little ones can zoom down the slope on snow bikes, sledges, inflatable rings and foam animals.

And near the gondola station in Valdidentro, the Fun4Kids snow park offers snow tubing and sledging, with steeper slopes for the older kids.

Ice rinks in Bormio, Santa Caterina Valfurva and Isolaccia

Bormio's Ice Stadium has a large indoor rink, which often stages international short track speed skating competitions, and a coffee shop.

The outdoor rinks at Santa Caterina Valfurva and Isolaccia in Valdidentro are located in the village centres, and open December to March, including evenings. Check opening times.

Sledging run in Val di Rezzalo

In Val di Rezzalo near Sondalo, there's a long sledging trail that's enormous fun for all ages, kids and adults alike. The run starts from the La Baita refuge, a 90-minute walk from the car park in Fumero.

The Family Bob mountain coaster

This mountain coaster takes you on an exhilarating ride through the pine forest in the Cima Piazzi-San Colombano ski area in Valdidentro, next to the Conca Bianca Refuge. Enjoy a 600 m descent with banked turns and spirals and automated 300 m ascent against a panoramic backdrop.

Snowshoeing with kids in Bormio

In winter, the hiking trails around Bormio turn into a winter wonderland you can explore with snowshoes or crampons. The groomed trails are ideal for walking with crampons, while the ungroomed trails are easy routes suitable for all ages and perfect for snowshoeing.

In Santa Caterina and Valdidentro the Alpine Guides offer a weekly programme of daytime and nighttime snowshoe excursions, suitable for families. Some are created with young children in mind, so they can safely explore the magical winter landscape.
