Nature to Experience: Workshops for Young Explorers
With Nature to Experience, the Stelvio National Park offers a programme of workshops and activities designed to introduce children to the natural world around them. These engaging experiences invite children aged 6 to 10 to observe, experiment and learn through fun, hands-on activities.
Each session encourages children to see nature from a new perspective: recognising birdsong, interpreting animal tracks, discovering the secrets of camouflage, exploring the hidden world beneath their feet or learning about the relationship between people and the alpine environment. Through games, creative activities and practical experiences, children step into the role of Little Rangers, discovering both the richness and the fragility of the Park's ecosystems.
The workshops take place throughout July, with each session focusing on a different theme, from wildlife and nature-inspired legends to the survival strategies of alpine species and the clues animals leave behind in the landscape.
Practical information
The activities are designed for children aged 6 to 10, are conducted in Italian, and cost €2.50 per participant.

Rezia Alpine Botanical Garden: An Open-Air Museum
Located on the slopes of Mount Reit, just a short walk from Bormio, the Rezia Alpine Botanical Garden is a true open-air museum dedicated to the biodiversity of mountain environments. Founded in 1982 and now managed by the Stelvio National Park, it is home to a remarkable collection of alpine plant species displayed along an immersive trail of colours, fragrances and extraordinary adaptations.
A visit to the Garden reveals how alpine plants and flowers survive in mountain conditions while highlighting the delicate balance of these ecosystems. Interactive exhibits, self-guided trails and dedicated activities make it easy and enjoyable for children to discover the fascinating world of alpine plants.
Throughout the summer, the Garden hosts children's workshops, free guided tours, and botanical and cultural events. It is the perfect destination for families wishing to discover alpine nature through engaging and educational experiences.

Paluaccio di Oga Nature Reserve: Discover Alpine Biodiversity
At an altitude of 1,700 metres, overlooking the Bormio valley, the Paluaccio di Oga Nature Reserve protects one of the area's most valuable alpine wetlands. Formed more than 10,000 years ago after the last Ice Age, this ancient peat bog is now an extraordinary haven for biodiversity, home to plant and animal species that thrive in this rare and delicate environment.
Following the one-kilometre circular trail, with its wooden boardwalks and hidden corners of the peat bog, visitors of all ages can discover a unique ecosystem and uncover the fascinating life that exists among water, mosses, plants and the small creatures that inhabit the alpine world.
The activities offered here provide families with an engaging way to explore the reserve through guided walks, nature workshops, observations of the reserve's hidden microcosm, and experiences focusing on butterflies, insects and amphibians. Learning takes place through exploration, curiosity and play.
Practical information
Participation is free of charge, thanks to the support of the Alta Valtellina Mountain Community.
Advance booking is required and confirmed exclusively through an electronic ticket.
Reservations can be made until 6:00 pm on the day before the activity, subject to availability.
Children must be accompanied by an adult for the entire duration of the activity.
In the event of bad weather or unforeseen circumstances, activities may be cancelled or rescheduled. Registered participants will be informed promptly of any changes.
