Located in the Stelvio National Park on the southern side of Monte Reit, the Plinian spring is immersed in a romantic park. The area is freely accessible and is situated between the Bagni Nuovi and Bagni Vecchi facilities. The forest leading to the Plinian spring was planted in the nineteenth century to make the stay of the guests of the Bormio Baths more welcoming. Today the rich alpine vegetation, composed of pines, larches, firs, stone pines, dwarf pines, and heather, also hosts species of Mediterranean flora that develop thanks to the particularly mild microclimate produced by the warm waters and excellent sun exposure.
