The main access to Val di Rezzalo is from the Fumero location: shortly after Sondalo on the SS38, exit at Le Prese and follow the signs for Frontale-e from there, climb the steep but fascinating slopes to reach Fumero. Then continue to the Fontanaccia location, where you leave the car in a small but practical parking lot to start the excursion. The route with Joelette is of medium difficulty due to a rather difficult road surface and some quite steep sections. It is recommended to have 4 conductors. Take the lane that goes deeper into the beautiful conifer forest; while climbing, we encounter the locations Pontela and Le Gande; gradually the valley becomes wider in its central part, reaching a large plateau at 1850 m, with the beautiful church dedicated to St. Bernard. Upon reaching the fork (see waypoint), you can take the path on the left to reach the La Baita refuge (accessible) for a gastronomic break with local products. If you want to continue exploring the Val di Rezzalo, you can proceed along the road and enter almost flat into the valley up to the Merlo location, with picnic area and fountain.
