Partly created in 1995 to commemorate the centenary of the foundation of the Italian Glaciological Committee, the trail winds through the Valle dei Forni, in Valfurva, reaching the vast glacier front. Here, a suspension bridge positioned over the Frodolfo stream offers an exciting crossing suspended above the rushing water that flows from the glacier. Discover the glacier of the same name and understand the natural events that shaped the valley’s morphology. The route also allows observation of remains from the First World War (1915-1918). Itinerary: from the Forni locality to the first parking lot on the right, briefly descend to the stream and cross the bridge following the Glaciological path signs, then immediately climb a characteristic stone staircase. Follow the path, gradually ascending at mid-slope until reaching an area with visible remains of military positions. From here, the path goes up and down until arriving at a small bridge. Continue always at mid-slope until the path passes through a special area with smooth rocks. Shortly after, the path descends to the valley floor, crossing the two characteristic suspension bridges. Now the path gradually descends on the right hydrographic side, reaching the small Ro'sole lake. A short climb leads to the Branca refuge for a well-deserved break before returning to Forni along the dirt road.
