The journey starts from the locality of Campello where you can leave the car along the dirt road. You go up on the right hydrographic bank of the ValFontana (on the left for those going up). The first stretch follows the cart track that leads to the Selva pasture, from here the climb becomes more challenging. At the edges of the pasture, just entering the woods, there is a turning on the left that allows you to cross a small bridge over the Vicima valley. You then reach the Basalone Alp. At this point the forest becomes increasingly sparse, and you continue climbing trying not to lose the often faint trail; generally, you always go along the valley. At about 2000 meters altitude, you reach a small fountain carved in a larch trunk (the photo on the itinerary homepage). After another short stretch, you reach the destination of this itinerary, the old huts of the Vicima Alp.
