The First World War left many traces in the Lombard mountain areas: especially here, in the Stelvio National Park, where fighting took place. Fascinating places where the beauty of the natural scenery sharply contrasts with the tragic events that happened there. To enhance this priceless heritage, the Lombardy Region (DG Autonomy and Culture) entrusted ERSAF, with the scientific collaboration of the White War Museum, with a project to enhance Lombardy's Great War heritage. The first tangible outcome of the project was the creation of themed trails using innovative and zero-impact technologies on the landscape. The six experiential routes proposed allow visitors to explore in a new, engaging, and interactive way some sections of the Italian-Austrian front and to learn about the war events that took place between 1915 and 1918 in the Stelvio National Park mountains. Thanks to technology accessible to all, it is now possible to encounter fragments of history and nature, capture subtle details, and look around while also taking a step back in time.
