World War I left many traces in the Lombard mountain areas: especially here, in the Stelvio National Park, where fighting took place. Fascinating places where the beauty of the natural scenery sharply contrasts with the tragedy of the events that occurred there. To enhance this priceless heritage, Regione Lombardia (DG Autonomy and Culture) entrusted ERSAF, with the scientific collaboration of the White War Museum, with a project to promote the Lombard Great War heritage. The first tangible result of the project was the creation of thematic trails made using innovative technologies with zero impact on the landscape. The six experiential routes proposed make it possible to visit in a new, engaging, and interactive way some stretches of the Italo-Austrian front and to learn about the war events that took place between 1915 and 1918 in the mountains of Stelvio National Park. Thanks to technology accessible to all, it is now possible to encounter fragments of history and nature, notice subtle details, and look around even while taking a step back in time.
