The First World War left many testimonies on the mountainous areas of Lombardy: especially here in the Stelvio National Park, where it was fought. Fascinating places where the beauty of the natural scenery contrasts starkly with the tragic nature of the events that took place there. To enhance this priceless heritage, the Lombardy Region (DG Autonomy and Culture) has entrusted ERSAF, with the scientific collaboration of the White War Museum, with a project to enhance Lombardy's Great War heritage. The first, tangible result of the project was the creation of thematic trails made using innovative technologies with zero impact on the landscape. The six proposed experiential itineraries make it possible to visit in a new, engaging and interactive way with the places, some stretches of the Italian-Austrian front and learn about the events of the war that happened between 1915 and 1918 in the mountains of the Stelvio National Park. Thanks to technology within everyone's reach, it is now possible to encounter fragments of history and nature, grasp inconspicuous details and look around even taking a leap back in time.
